Migrate from Linktree to LinkAsia in 30 seconds (AI Import walkthrough)

·LinkAsia Team·7 min read

You have a Linktree page. You also have an Asian audience that browses in Traditional Chinese, Japanese, or Malay. And you'd rather not rebuild your whole bio page from scratch. This guide walks you through LinkAsia's AI Import — paste your Linktree URL, get a fully-recreated LinkAsia page in about 30 seconds.

We'll cover what moves over automatically, what you'll want to polish by hand, and the free-plan upgrades you unlock the moment your page lands on LinkAsia.

Why migrate away from Linktree?

Linktree is a solid product, but it's built for an English-speaking, US-priced audience. If you're creating from Taipei, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, or any other APAC city, three frictions show up quickly:

  • Admin in English only. Your audience reads Traditional Chinese. Linktree's dashboard doesn't.
  • Billing in USD. The starter plan is roughly $9/mo USD — about NT$280, HK$70, or RM40 in local currency.
  • No migration path out. If you want to move away, you're manually copying every link.

LinkAsia's AI Import removes the last friction. The first two we solve with the product itself — 7 Asian languages in the admin and Stripe payments in TWD, HKD, SGD, MYR, and USD.

What you'll need before you start

  • Your Linktree URL — e.g. linktr.ee/yourname. The page must be public so our scraper can read it.
  • A LinkAsia account — free. Sign up at linkasia.me/signup. Takes about 30 seconds.
  • A few minutes to review — the import is fast, but you'll want to check the result and pick a theme.

Step-by-step: import in 30 seconds

Step 1 — Sign up (free)

Head to linkasia.me/signup. Use your email or continue with Google. The free plan is enough to host a page with 5 links, a lead form, and basic analytics — plenty to validate the migration.

Step 2 — Open Import from URL

From your dashboard, click Import from URL. A dialog opens asking for the URL you want to import.

Step 3 — Paste your Linktree URL

Paste https://linktr.ee/yourname and hit Import. LinkAsia streams the progress back to you as it works:

  • Fetching — we ask Jina Reader to download your Linktree page as clean markdown.
  • Extracting — an LLM reads the markdown and structures it into a LinkAsia page: display name, bio, avatar, links, social profiles.
  • Uploading — your avatar gets re-hosted on LinkAsia's CDN so it stays reliable even if Linktree's origin changes.
  • Done — you get a preview of the imported page, ready to publish.

Step 4 — Review and customize

Open the page in the builder. Everything that transferred is already there; you can tweak the order of links, change the theme, add new blocks, and set up payments.

Step 5 — Publish

Flip the publish toggle. Your LinkAsia URL — linkasia.me/yourname — is live immediately. Update the link in your Instagram, TikTok, and Threads bios, and you're done.

What AI Import transfers automatically

  • Display name and bio — pulled verbatim from Linktree.
  • Avatar image — re-uploaded to LinkAsia's CDN.
  • All link buttons — label + URL.
  • Social profiles — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter, Facebook, and more are detected and placed in your profile header.

What you'll add yourself

LinkAsia has blocks that Linktree doesn't. Import doesn't fabricate content for them — that's your call:

  • Tip Jar — Stripe Connect, preset amounts, thank-you message. Takes about 2 minutes to set up.
  • Lead forms — capture emails, phone numbers, custom fields. Export to CSV anytime.
  • Product cards — price + image + buy link. Accepts Stripe payments in 5 APAC currencies.
  • Booking block — list sessions with duration + price, let visitors book and pay.

Post-migration: things Linktree can't do

You've landed on LinkAsia. Before you paste the new URL into your Instagram bio, take 5 minutes to switch on the things that made you leave Linktree in the first place:

  1. Switch admin language. Top-right of the dashboard, pick Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Malay, or Cantonese.
  2. Set your locale-appropriate currency. Product cards and tip jar accept TWD, HKD, SGD, MYR, and USD — pick the currency your audience actually pays in.
  3. Add a Tip Jar. Connect your Stripe Express account once; tips flow straight to your local bank.
  4. Check the analytics. Dashboard shows which links visitors actually click, broken down by country and device. Linktree's basic plan doesn't.

FAQ

Does AI Import work with Beacons or Later?

Yes. Paste any public link-in-bio URL and the extractor will figure out the structure. We've tested Linktree, Beacons, Later, Taplink, Campsite, Portaly, and a handful of custom pages.

Is my data safe?

We only scrape the public version of your Linktree page — the same content anyone with the URL can see. We don't log into your account or pull private drafts. The markdown is held in memory long enough to extract structured content, cached for 30 days so repeat imports are fast, and then deleted.

How many imports do I get?

5 imports per day per account on all plans. More than enough for migrating your own pages or importing a handful of client pages you manage. The cache means a second import of the same URL is instant.

What if the import misses something?

Edit the page manually — the LinkAsia builder supports drag and drop for all 14 block types. If a specific link didn't come through, just add a Link block and paste the URL. If the whole import looks off, try again — we cache for 30 days so retrying with a different URL doesn't eat into your daily quota.

Can I keep my old Linktree URL?

Yes. The migration doesn't touch your Linktree account. You can run both in parallel while you test LinkAsia, then swap the bio link on Instagram when you're ready.
